Sure, it's not perfect: Audio is pretty weak, and so is the battery. None of that takes away from the fact that LG has built a phone that feels ready to compete with the best of the best for the first time in ages. Whether it has what it takes to beat those rivals, though, is a matter of opinion. While reviewing it, however, that opinion has changed, with this flagship winning us over by delivering all the essential elements of a great smartphone experience.
The aforementioned two features were notably missing from its predecessor.
LG G8X ThinQ Review: Two Screens Come at a Cost | WIRED
That's if you're in the market for both types of devices. Could it be possible that, down the line, a price concession comes to the LG G6? That's pure speculation and we'll have to see as the competitive landscape unfolds in the coming weeks. Either way, after a notable misstep with the G5, the G6 returns LG back to smartphone design prominence. People familiar with the brand will probably love the G6. If you've never considered an LG phone in the past, LG just gave you a really good reason for a double-take. LG G6 is already one of the best phones in [Review] Source: G Style Magazine The G6 is a solid phone and contrary to what people may say it can compete with the S8 in terms of all around phone.
The G6 is very user friendly and simple to use without being bogged down with gimmickry. There are a lot of features we love here - that wide-angle screen is great, the bezels are tiny, and the dual-camera is really handy. Highly recommended. Source: Android Authority is shaping up to be a fantastic year for Android smartphones. With Samsung, Apple, Huawei and others all expected to bring the very best they have this year, the G6 needed to be a success.
Luckily, it does just this, and by setting a new standard for flagships in , LG has laid down a marker that other OEMs need to equal or surpass. LG G6 review: A return to form Source: Android Central When I look back on many of the gimmicks LG has tried to use to sell smartphones over the years, the most striking thing about the G6 is how this time the focus is on just making a good, balanced phone that does most thing really well, and a few things.
Mobile jammer New Jersey - The LG Q8 is a sleek, smaller and water-resistant V20
As much as you could argue that the taller display is indeed a gimmick, LG's doing enough with it that it's not just there for the sake of it. There are certainly no killer flaws in the G6, beyond a certain lack of individual personality. As long as you buy a U.

Wireless charging is limited to models sold in the States, while quad-DAC is only on the Korea model, and the 64GB variant is exclusive to a handful of Asian countries. Bending the phone from the back or from the front shows almost zero flex. This means that overall, there is no question as to how durable the LG G6 is. It survives scratches, burns and even strong bends. For now I cannot recommend the G6 enough. It gets it all right and is a phone you can love. But in the argument for the best Android smartphone, my recommendation is to wait and see if the Galaxy S8 has the last word.
Hands-on: The LG G6 has an interesting display and a useful dual camera system Source: Hardware Zone As mentioned above, the LG G6's aspect ratio can fit two typical aspect ratio photos on the display, making it friendly for Instagram and Snapchat. Users can take a photo, and have it below as a preview while they frame the next shot.
You can toggle between normal and wide angle lenses in between the shots, making it convenient to check every incoming shot without having to leave the camera app. While it splurged on the display, the waterproofing and the cameras, it chose to be less generous in other aspects.
Some through no fault of its own, like the Snapdragon situation, while others, like Quad DAC and wireless charging, it decided based on keeping costs low. This time around LG has concentrated hard on the features that demanding users expect, delivering unique abilities such as the Dolby Vision support to rise the G6 above the competition.
In every other area it succeeds just as strongly, offering dependable battery life, solid camera tech and a rather enticing design. Add handsome design and thoughtful hardware and software decisions, and you have one of the leading Android phones of This is a phablet, that feels like a standard phone.
It has a set of cameras that adapts to your surroundings like no other dual-camera combo in the market. Best of all, it sports a design that will turn heads no matter where you go. Your Honor, we most certainly have. In the case of the LG G6, we hereby find the smartphone… fantastic! The G6 may not be as experimental or quirky as its G5 predecessor, but that's not a bad thing. Other than having an "older" processor, it can rival the S8 spec-by-spec because it's playing it safe. LG has put together a very solid, if unspectacular device.
The build quality is very good, the software seems to have taken steps forward, and there are a lot of other little improvements. It does almost everything very well and only persnickety issues with audio and the mainly Selfie camera stop us from declaring it the outright king of smartphones. It's LG's best turn at design, best example of engineering as an art form, best in raw performance, and best in delivering a good experience across the board.
It has so few weaknesses I can hardly think what they might be.
You just might fall in love with the phone at first sight. The glass-and-metal chassis is classy and assembled brilliantly. It's a fine size and the screen will surely push all your buttons with eye-popping visuals. Water resistance has become a table-stakes feature for flagship phones and the G6 has it covered.
I appreciate the 3. Wireless performance was great, voice call quality is very good, and battery life is right where it needs to be. LG G6, one month on: A great phone, and the best LG has ever made Source: Android Central LG's marketing power and ability to leverage current mind share just can't stand up to the likes of Samsung, and it will rely heavily on carrier partnerships around the world to push the G6.
LG Phone Reviews
That's just a reality of where the market — and LG's smartphone business — stands right now. But despite the fact that its sales will be far behind the Galaxy S8's no matter what, the G6 is nothing short of a great phone. If LG keeps making G series phones like this, only good things can happen from here. Enough to make us half forget the modular "Friends" approach of last year's G5.
Whether that spotty history is enough to get you back on board with the series is another matter, but as flagship phones go LG is a standout for all the right reasons.
It is great to see LG go back to basics and concentrate on what the market actually needs instead of trying to impress the market with stuff they think it needs. The wide-angle camera, fully manual video mode, aspect ratio display and compact size all are unique offerings and attribute to the great smartphone that it is.
Meanwhile, the rest of the major US carriers will start releasing the smartphone a week later on April 7. At this point, the units pre-sales are already larger than critics had initially expected. But hey, we'd take the G6's chamfered display corners any day if they make the phone that extra bit more likely to live through a drop out of our clumsy hands.
Because that display is one true gem, and we'd like to keep it crack free and in working order. Launching its spec-packed, metal-and-glass G6 at the world's largest mobile show Mobile World Congress gives LG a rare opportunity to prove itself after that lukewarm reception of last year's modular-like G5, without the fear of being overshadowed by its biggest competitor, Samsung.
Samsung had to push back the launch of its Galaxy S8 flagship while dealing with fallout from its exploding Galaxy Note 7 fiasco. LG G6 second opinion: This one's the best Source: Android Central The LG G6 is definitely the company's return to form: It's equipped with stellar hardware, it's water resistant, it's stylish, and it's certifiably unique in its own right — this is what is looks like when LG has a hit on its hands!
The only bummer is that with Samsung readying to storm onto the scene with its own flagship smartphone, it's a wonder if the G6 will manage to compete.
